The Butterflies and Bridges Run is open to anyone and everyone wishing to participate. We offer two events: an 8K run and a 2-mile fun run and walk.

Our goal is to provide essential elements for success, like character, discipline, respect and teamwork through sports.

Each year, artists from county schools create an image or picture that best represents the Butterflies and Bridges Run. After a winner is selected, their art is featured throughout that years run.

Approximately 80% of the proceeds go towards sports activities for all Selma City Schools. Our goal is to increase participation at all city schools as a building block for more competitive teams at the high school level and to encourage community support for all student athletes.

• Provide summer camp opportunities
• Renovate the baseball and softball fields behind Selma High School
• Build character through sports

Selma City Schools’ Award Program
Students, teachers and their families and friends are encouraged to represent their schools by participating in the Butterflies and Bridges Run. Register in the name of a local public school and that school will receive a cash award. Entry forms and fees should be turned in to your child’s school.

Art Contest
The Butterflies and Bridges Art Contest is open to enrolled students from Dallas County or Selma City Schools. From the submissions, a panel of local artists will pick an overall winner and a winner from each of the three age divisions. The overall winner’s art will be featured on the Butterflies and Bridges Run t-shirts, posters and other promotional materials.
