Race Course (link)

Beginning in front of Selma High School on Broad Street, the race heads south towards historic downtown Selma. For the 2-mile fun run and walk participants, the turnaround point will be just beyond the railroad tracks. The 8k competitors will continue on, turning right on Furniss Avenue followed by a left turn onto Church Street running towards Parkman Avenue. Next, take a right on Parkman Avenue running to Union Street. Take a left at Union Street then a left on to Alabama Avenue. Turn right on Broad Street and continue over the Edmund Pettus Bridge turning around at Old Montgomery Highway. The final leg is a straight run back down Broad Street to the finish line in front of Selma High School.

Water will be available on the corner of Broad Street and fittingly, Water Avenue.

A digital clock located at the finish line will display each runner's time. No dogs or roller blades are allowed in any event. Strollers and wagons are allowed in the 2-mile Run Run/Walk; however ARE NOT permitted in the 8K competitive race.

Runner Safety

Runner safety will always be a top priority at our event.
Roller blades and pets are not allowed.
Use of personal musical devices is strongly discouraged.
Use of baby joggers or strollers is permitted but we strongly encourage participants to start in back of the runners or walkers.

Race Day Registration

Begins at 6:30 AM at Selma High School (start line) and ends at 7:30 AM. Race day registration does not guarantee a race T-shirt.

All events start and finish at Selma High School at 2180 Broad Street.

Packet Pickup
All participants may pick up their race packets on race day at Selma High from 6:30 – 7:30 AM.

Cash Prizes and Awards

While we greatly appreciate everyone’s participation, cash prizes and medallions will only be awarded to 8k competitors.
The top 3 male and female finishers will receive the following:

1st Place - $100 - 2nd Place - $50 - 3rd Place - $25

Medallions will go to the 1st male and female finisher in each age division.

Age divisions are as follows:
14 and under … 15 – 19 … 20 – 29 … 30 – 39 40 – 49 … 50 – 59 … 60 and over

Awards Ceremony

There will be a post-race drawing beginning at 9:00 AM for prizes donated by local businesses. The awards ceremony will begin approximately at 9:30 AM in front of Selma High

Race Results – 8K Only

Finish times will be posted shortly after the race. Finish times will also be sent to The Selma Times-Journal and will be posted at www.selmacitysports.com.
